Firmware Version 3 is our new updated firmware which we have launched and will soon be shipped out on new embossers.

You can however upgrade to the new FW3 now if you have an embosser with board type 1366.

Upgrade to FW3

This is usually caused by something being replaced in the embosser such as the Mainboard or the MicroSD card or the SOM board on the newer 1366 board.
The solution is easy and you just need to send a hammerbatch file either with Direct-Braille or through the Web Interface to the embosser matching the batch number that is written on the label on the hammers.

The Web Interface is the Index Braille embossers interface where you can preview and print documents, make small editings, edit layouts, print labels and much more.

You also have the drivers available on the USB Media that comes with the embosser.

If you need help finding a distributor, please contact Index Braille support.

No, for most uses it’s enough to use the Web interface or Direct-Braille to print Word and PDF files.

Direct-Braille is a software that comes when installing the driver so that you can send files directly to the Index Braille embossers to be translated and printed out in braille.

Yes you can create Tactile Graphics and print them on all Index Braille Embossers.

For this you do need to have an editor capable of producing the tactile graphics.

Press Help+10 in a sequence and the embosser will echo out the IP addresses that it has.

Press Help+1 in a sequence and the embosser will print out the network information.

You can connect your embosser through either the USB cable or over network.
